There are a wide variety of Alternative Fundraisers this weekend to participate in this week!  So warm up your thumbs and keep your wallets and stomachs open and help out everyone trying to raise money For The Kids!

November 29:
FTK Ornaments

• This sale is being put on by the Red Cross Club Benefitting THON
• “Ceramic and wooden Christmas ornaments personalized to say “For (insert THON child’s name) ” or “For the (insert THON family’s name)”. Only $3!”
• This is taking place from November 29-December 17 in the HUB on Penn State’s University Park Campus

November 30:

PSMA’s Date Auction Benefitting THON

• The date auction is being put on by the Penn State Marketing Association
• “Win a date with the drum major, feature twirler, or other sports teams! All proceeds benefit THON. $2 to enter, which includes one free raffle ticket! Additional raffle tickets for $1 each.”
• This is taking place on November 30 in the HUB Ballroom on Penn State’s University Park Campus

S.M.A.R.T. and NAACP Present The Countdown

• This event is being put on by S.M.A.R.T. (Student Minority Advisory and Support Team) and the NAACP
• “Feeling lonely? In need of a fun night? Come out and enjoy our Speed Dating Mixer Fundraiser. Enjoy a night of mingling and speed dating. You never know who you might meet. All proceeds will be given directly to THON. When? November 30, 2011 @ 6pm Where? Science Bridge between Life Sciences Bridge & Chemistry Building How Much? $5/ single ticket brought in advance $4/ group of 5 per person $10/ single ticket brought at the door.”
• This event is taking place on November 30 in the Life Sciences Bridge on Penn States University Park Campus at 6 pm

Kart FTK!

• This event is being put on by Schreyer Honors College Student Council, Atlas, Apollo, and Springfield 
• “Come show off your MarioKart skills on November 30th from 7-10pm in Redifer Commons! There will be a time-trial fun play from 7-9pm for $2 where the winner will receive an awesome gift basket and there will be a bracket-style tournament from 9-10pm for $5 where the winner will be able to credit 20% of the profits from this event toward their respective THON organization!”

December 1:

Bake Sale

• This sale is being held by Alpha Sigma Alpha
• “A bake sale outside of the fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha”
• This sale is taking place on December 1 in front of the fraternity Lambda Chi Alpha.  Lambda Chi Alpha is located in Downtown State College on the corner of South Garner Street and East Fairmount Avenue

December 2:

A Charlie Brown Christmas

• The play is being put on by The School of Theatre 
• “Come see Charlie Brown come to life Christmas Style! Do you remember that TV Christmas special where Charlie Brown tries to find the real meaning of Christmas? Well, School of Theatre FTK is bringing these wonderful characters to life, just like the cartoon. The dates for the shows: December 2 at 5 and 6 December 3 at 2:30, 5 and 6 December 4 at 2:30, 5 and 7:30 Suggested donation of $5 and all proceeds go to THON! So come out and see a great show that helps the kids!”
• This play is taking place from December 2-4 at the Pavilion Theatre on Penn States University Park Campus
