Welcome to the official blog of the The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, affectionately known as THON. Started in 1973, THON is a year-long fundraising effort to raise both funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. The year culminates in a 46 hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. But THON is more than just a weekend celebration. It's friends, it's family, it's hope, it's a dream. Dodge, dip, duck, dive and dodge! On Sunday, November 6, 2011, the THON community took to the Multi Sports Complex to compete in the ultimate test of strength and agility: dodgeball. The fee was $60 a team and teams consisted of 6-7 players. They were spilt up into the Courage, Wisdom, Honesty, and Strength Brackets with over 100 teams competing. The competition was fierce, but the boys of 7th Floor Pinchot took no prisoners and wound up victorious. Thank you to everyone who came out and thank you to Penn State Basketball for their support!
